Vote for your DeVines February Player of the Month

1 March 2016

Who gets your vote for the February Player of the Month?

Southend United are asking Blues' fans to vote for their DeVines Player of the Month for February.

The club wants fans to cast their vote looking over a month where Phil Brown's men beat Shrewsbury Town 2-1 away from home with ten men, trounced local rivals Colchester United 3-0 and live on Sky Sports defeated top of the table Burton Albion 3-1.

Up for the February nominations are:
  • Tyrone Barnett
  • Will Atkinson
  • Adam Barrett
  • Anthony Wordsworth

Tyrone Barnett continued to shine up front for Blues with a number of superb performances & the striker scored a contender for goal of the season against Burton Albion at Roots Hall, curling the ball into the top left hand corner from distance after great team play.

Will Atkinson has put in some gutsy performances in the month of February, becoming the 'engine' in the middle of the field for Southend and the midfielder also managed to get on the scoresheet with a sweet strike against Shrewsbury Town which caught the keeper by surprise.

Stand in Captain Adam Barrett has been pivotal for Blues at the back and the central defender scored a goal he will remember for a long time against local rivals Colchester United at Roots Hall to secure all three points much to his delight.

After a long spell on the sidelines Anthony Wordsworth has come back with a bang, getting on the scoresheet twice in February with two great strikes against Colchester United & Burton Albion, showing United fans what he can do in front of goal.
