Blues Boss hoping to get back to winning ways against the Blades.Southend United Manager, Phil Brown is hoping to right the wrongs of Friday’s defeat at Rochdale in the clash against Sheffield United at Roots Hall tomorrow night.
The Blues welcome the Blades to HQ on the back of some inconsistent form which has seen them win, draw and lose their last three games.
The most recent of those results was a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Rochdale last Friday, which put a dent in Southend’s play-off aspirations.
In order to get the top-six hunt back on track, Blues have to put it right tomorrow says Brown.
“We’ve got to put it right tomorrow against Sheffield United.” He said
“The Sky cameras are in town and notoriously we always seem to turn up when the cameras are in town.
“That’s the plan of attack, and I will be making changes as some of the performances last Friday were unacceptable from an individual point of view.
“But Rochdale took their chances, and if we create chances tomorrow night I expect us to take them.”
Southend welcome Nigel Adkins to Roots Hall looking to build on impressive home victories over Coventry City, Burton Albion and Colchester United to name but a few.
Brown believes his team have shown on many occasions this season how good they can be, but a lack of consistency has paid put price to the Blues not being further up the pile.
“Some weeks here we’ve witnessed a commitment level that is worthy of playing at the right end of the division, and then other weeks we haven’t.
“That’s the hard part of the game of football, you get promoted, give the players a license to play football at the higher level and some have played consistently well and others haven’t.
“That inconsistency is the bane of every manager’s life.”
