As the 2016/17 Fixtures are now released and all 46 games in Sky Bet League One are firmly marked on the calendar (subject to change) – here is a list of key fixtures for Blues fans.Opening and closing fixtures.
The opening day sees Blues welcome neighbours Gillingham to Roots Hall on Saturday 6 August.
Fast-forward 45 games and the final game of the season is also a home fixture as Southend United close the curtain on the domestic campaign against Bury on Sunday 30 April.
The shortest journey Phil Brown’s side will make from Roots Hall in the 16/17 campaign will be the 39-mile trip to Charlton Athletic, a team who have just stepped down to the third-tier. Blues will host the Addicks on Saturday 31 December and travel to the Valley on Saturday 8 April.
The other closest games include Millwall (Home Saturday 17 September & Away Saturday 11 February) and Gillingham (Home Saturday 6 August & Away Saturday 25 February).
Christmas and Easter:
The festive season will see Blues host newly promoted AFC Wimbledon on Boxing Day (Monday 26 December) before a New Year’s Eve fixture at home to Charlton Athletic (Saturday 31 December).
Easter Monday (Monday 17 April) will see Blues at home to MK Dons.
At this moment in time, Blues will come up against four players that played for them in 2015/16 at home.
Cian Bolger’s Fleetwood Town will come to Roots Hall on Saturday 27 August, David Worrall and Millwall will arrive at Roots Hall on Saturday 17 September and Gary Deegan and Tyrone Barnett will arrive with Shrewsbury Town on Saturday 29 October.
Postponements/Internationals/Cup successes may determine further midweek fixtures but at this moment in time Blues will have seven Tuesday night fixtures in Sky Bet League One in 2016/17 which are as follows (7:45pm kick off):

Long Away trips:
The longest trip Blues will make in 2016/17 is 276-mile trip to Fleetwood Town on Saturday 28 January.
Other lengthy journeys include Bolton Wanderers on Saturday 3 September (248 miles), Bury on Saturday 12 November (245 miles), Oldham Athletic on Saturday 17 December (245 miles), Rochdale on Saturday 8 October (244 miles) and Bradford City on Tuesday 18 October (225 miles).
