Striker joins subject to a medicalSouthend United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Simon Cox on a two year deal after the Republic of Ireland international committed his future to the Blues until at least the summer of 2018.
Cox, has scored 91 goals in 255 club starts joins the Blues after his release from Sky Bet Championship side Reading in June.
The Republic of Ireland striker has featured 30 times for his country scoring four goals; the 29 year old striker was part of Giovanni Trappatoni’s Euro 2012 squad in Poland and Ukraine.
Southend’s new signing other notable clubs include Swindon Town scoring 35 goals in 62 appearances, West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest.
