Lenny in Spain | A few of us weren't quite that desperate to catch a pikachu

21 July 2016

Ryan Leonard gives us a brief insight into Spain...

Southend United midfielder Ryan Leonard will be giving you a break down of Blues' pre-season training camp in Malaga...

Day Three

We woke up on the third day feeling a little weary and stiff from the evening before but there was no let up from the tough day of training with a triple session.

Firstly, a morning training session took place where we did a few different passing and warm up drills before we started an 8 v 8 game of 3 x 7 minute matches with each game having lots of different conditions and rules involved to keep us on our toes.

That was followed by another really nice meal at the hotel and straight for a power gym session with the fitness coaches who really put us through our paces.

Following an afternoon sleep (trust me, this was certainly needed) a third session of football took place which was more of a technical one where the Gaffer took charge of a back four and we had waves of attacks to try and break them down - it was an excellent chance for the defenders to work on their positioning and us attackers to get some sight of goal!

The day ended on a funnier note with Ted (Smith) and Bridgey (Jack Bridge) walking back from training deep inside a few sharp bushes catching which seemed to be some rare pokemen, a few of us weren't quite that desperate to catch a pikachu hahaha.

More updates tomorrow from me including our match!
