Both players on the scoresheet against Whitehawk.Southend United Manager Phil Brown has wished both Jack Bridge and Jason Williams well in their loan deals to Chelmsford City.
Both players, who have impressed in the Blues U21 side in the first half of the season, signed for the Vanarama National League South side last Friday, until the end of the season.
The pair went straight in to the action, starring in a seven-goal thriller against Whitehawk at the weekend. Both Players were on the scoresheet in that game as City won 4-3.
The players will play under the management of Kevin Maher (pictured); a familiar face given he is also the Manager of Southend United’s U21 side.
Brown believes the loans will be a good test for both Williams and Bridge.
“We felt that we would get to the end of December and start considering sending one or two loans out.
“I think they (Williams and Bridge) are looking at this for their careers for sure.
“For them to go and play first team football will give us a better idea of whether they can come back here and be professional footballers for Southend United next year.
“Both Jason and Jack have done ever so well this year, and Kevin Maher has seen and witnessed first-hand what these two lads can do.
“Hopefully Jason will score a lot of goals, Jack Bridge will contribute on the creative and scoring side, and they’ll both reap the benefits of this loan.”
