Cast your vote for the Devines January Player of the Month

Southend United are asking supporters to vote for their Blues' Player of the Month for January.

The club wants fans to cast their vote looking over a month where Phil Brown's men put three past Coventry at Roots Hall, and kept out the league’s top scorers, Peterborough at the ABAX Stadium.

Up for nomination for January are:
•    Tyrone Barnett
•    Dan Bentley
•    Jack Payne
•    Stephen Hendrie

Tyrone Barnett has started life at Southend very well. The striker has three goals in as many games for the Blues after joining this month on a season-long loan from Shrewsbury Town.

Penalty King, Dan Bentley, displayed his penalty heroics yet again in January, saving a last minute spot-kick against Peterborough to earn a battling 0-0 draw. The keeper followed that up with another clean sheet in the 3-0 victory over Coventry City.

Jack Payne displayed a string of good performances in January. The player was a standout performer in the game against Coventry, causing havoc on the Sky Blues back-line and scored the opening goal.

Stephen Hendrie has already highlighted both his defensive and attacking prowess in his short-time at the club. The West-Ham loanee has looked at home in the left wing-back role, and was involved in the build up to two of the three goals scored against Coventry. The Blues are also yet to concede a goal during his time in the side.

Fans will have the opportunity to pick their choice for Player of the Month on Southend United's official Twitter page @SUFCRootsHall.
