MATCH PREVIEW | Wordsworth believes there's more to come

30 December 2016

Midfielder looks ahead to Charlton...

Anthony Wordsworth believes there is more to come from this Blues team.

Undefeated in 11 games and nine home games, Blues have shot up the table from 22nd on 8th October to 6th with the win on Boxing Day.

And Wordsworth doesn’t want any complacency to creep in with the visit of Charlton on Saturday.

“The last couple of games against AFC Wimbledon and Oldham we’ve not actually played our best football,” he said.

“I think there is more to come from us.

“In the last two home games we’ve scored three goals both times, but we could have scored five or six on Monday.”

The midfielder, who is top goalscorer with seven goals, says the influence of former Premier League players like Anton Ferdinand, Simon Cox, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Nile Ranger is why Blues have turned it around.

“We’ve got some good players here,” he added.

“One or two that played in the Premier League and I think they’re rubbing off on the rest of us.

“We’re learning from them.”
