INJURY REPORT | Coker and Ranger pushing for return

29 December 2016

The boss provides the latest update on squad health...

Phil Brown has revealed Ben Coker and Nile Ranger are in contention to play a part in Saturday’s game against Charlton.

Blues take on the Addicks in their last action of 2016, and manager Brown is hopeful he will be able to add two more into his thoughts for the game.

“Ben Coker is just pushing ahead of schedule and he is very very close.

“Ben’s just desperate to get out there and I like that mentality and attitude. He wants to burst through the doors of the physio’s and run around like a lunatic on the grass. I don’t think that’s a bad thing either.

“Michael Timlin’s a similar kind of person.

“The majority of our lads have got the mentality that they want to play a big part in the second half of the season."

On Ranger, Brown added: "Nile's been showing very good signs on the training ground this week."

Tickets are selling fast with a bumper crowd expected inside Roots Hall and the boss is excited about the prospect of another big following.

“I hope the supporters are going to turn up,” he added.

“We had eight-and-a-half thousand on Boxing Day and if we can get to nine-and-a-half, ten thousand this weekend then that’s a sure fire sign that the fans are behind us and they want to see the success that we want.”

Tickets can be bought online, in person at the Roots Hall Ticket Office or by calling the Ticket Box Office on 08444 770077.
