Striker thrilled to have joined the Blues.Southend United’s new signing Nile Ranger says it feels ‘amazing’ to have signed for the Blues until the end of the season.
The striker has agreed to join Blues for 2016/17, with the option of a further year following a successful trial over the summer.
Ranger has paid tribute to the Club and its fans for showing faith in him, and is hoping to repay their support with goals in the upcoming campaign.
“It feels amazing to have signed.” He said.
“The lads have made me feel welcome, they’re like my brothers to be honest and the manager and all the staff have made me feel welcome so that’s always good.
“The fans have also sent their positive comments about me signing and it’s a good buzz because they’re happy that I’m here which feels good.
“It’s always good when everybody is backing you, knowing my baggage and my past they’ve still made me feel very welcome.
“My baggage is not the best, but I’m here now ready to graft and work for this team.”
“I want to bag a few goals and assists and be effective in the game.”
Ranger will have to wait to make his Southend debut after being ruled out with a groin injury sustained in the pre-season trip to Spain.
The 25-year-old says he is making good progress though, and hopes to donning the Blue of Southend soon.
“I’ve been out for a quite a while so the pre-season has been intense.
“I’ve haven’t had a proper pre-season in years so coming back into it was tough and I felt my groin go in Spain, but it’s feeling good at the minute so we’ll take each day as it comes.”
