Southend's summer signing previews the trip to Vale Park.Jason Demetriou is hoping Blues can build on their first half performances in their opening two games against Gillingham and put in a thorough shift at Port Vale.
Despite losing 3-1 to Gills in both their opening league fixture and EFL Cup tie, Southend began both games the stronger taking the lead twice.
Looking to take the positives from those two first half performances and improve where necessary, Demetriou is hopeful Southend can register their first points of the season at Vale Park.
“We need to look at getting a whole, complete performance and not just one half and I think if we do that it will be a positive outcome.
“The first half performance in both games were so good. I don’t even think they were average I think they were really good so there are positive signs there.
“We had a good meeting yesterday and sorted out where we need to improve so we’re on our way.
“It’s a big pitch, we just need to use it to our advantage and make sure we come away with the three points whatever way we play.”
