Southend United's Assistant Manager previews Fleetwood Town...Graham Coughlan is hoping Blues can stretch their unbeaten run to three games v Fleetwood Town at Roots Hall this Saturday (3pm kick off).
Southend go into the fixture looking to build on the four points gained from Sheffield United and Bristol Rovers and register their first home win of the season.
In order to do that, Coughlan warns the players must be on it from the first minute until the last.
“First and foremost we’re looking forward to the game.
“Being at home there is an opportunity for us to get some points on the board and build on the back of last week.
“If we came away with a win on Saturday that would give us seven points from nine which is a very positive return.
“I think a lot of teams come to Roots Hall and show us respect and set up defensively as they know we’re a good team with good players.
“A lot of teams to come to frustrate but it’s also a mark of respect as well so we’ll probably expect the same of Saturday.
“Fleetwood will be tough opponents, they’re tidy on the ball, they shift the ball and like spending long periods on it in the game so we’ll have to be defensively organised as well.
“We can’t jump out too early or they’ll punish us. As we’ve seen this season and last season, League One teams are clinical and take their opportunities so it will be up to us to limit them.”
