BRIDGE | Battling point shows team spirit

Blues midfielder pleased to make an impact from the bench v Bristol Rovers

Midfielder Jack Bridge believes it was good point taken yesterday in the 1-1 draw v Bristol Rovers at Roots Hall.

Peter Hartley had headed the visitors in front before a late penalty from Simon Cox levelled up the scores.

Bridge, who made a positive impact to the game following his introduction to the pitch midway through the second half, believes there is much to take from this result going into Blues’ next game at home against Fleetwood town next Saturday.

“I think it is a point gained the way the game has gone.

“I thought we played very well, obviously we want to be winning games but it is a good result and we’ll take it in the end.

“We all know it (a home win) is going to come, I think the performances have been there, the boys have been brilliant and we have just got to keep doing that and it will come like it did at the end.

“I feel we’ve always had a good spirit, Tuesday night is a great example of that and again today to go one-nil down and never give up and get a result like we did, it’s a good point.

“Whenever I get on the pitch I just want to help the team and make an impact and see what I can do.

“We want to be winning games at home in front of the fans. It’s important to take what we’ve done today into next week and get a win.”
