Brown looks to reward fans' support with a win

Blues Boss previews Bradford City

Southend United Manager, Phil Brown is looking to sign off for the season at Roots Hall with a win against play-off chasing Bradford City.

It’s been a solid first season back in Sky Bet League 1 for the Blues as they look to finish the campaign on a high with two games remaining.

With a high-crowd expected, Brown is hoping for a carnival atmosphere on Saturday, and thinks that a win would be the perfect gift to repay the fans for their wonderful support this year.

“It’s the last home game of the season, and we’re expecting a bumper crowd.” He said.

“We’re expecting 1,500 Yorkshiremen in the stadium and they’ll be making plenty of noise as they’ve got plenty to shout about but I think we have as well.

“We’ve got a chance with two games to go get into the sixties, which is what a lot of people would have taken at the start of the season.

“But looking where we were after 36 games, I’m disappointed with the sixties as I would have preferred the seventies as we all would have done.

“We want to finish in front of our home fans with a win as a nice sign off, rewarding them more than anything else for their support this year as it has been absolutely outstanding.”
