The midfielder wants to continue Blues winning run at Gresty Road on Tuesday.
Southend United midfielder Ryan Leonard insists the winning run can continue, as Blues head to Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday evening for the first of two games in a week.
The clash against the Alex brings back bad memories for Leonard, who has been involved with unfortunate defeats to the Cheshire side in recent years.
The first was play-off semi-final heartbreak a few years back, before defeat in the JPT Final in 2013.
“It’s about time we put those defeats right,” Leonard said defiantly.
“The defeats to them are on the back burner now and we want to get the points and continue our winning run.
“We’re very pleased to get the last couple of wins under our belts. We’re ready to go on Tuesday night.
“We’ve had a few different combinations this season but we all know our jobs and there’s healthy competition, especially in midfield. When you’re winning, the quicker the games come, the better.”
And the 23-year-old feels Blues can take heart from performances on the road this season.
The Blues have travelled to Fleetwood Town, Doncaster Rovers, Coventry City and Millwall, and are yet to suffer defeat. And that’s a statistic that Ryan wants to continue.
“We’ve drawn three and won one away from home, which shows we’re a difficult team to beat on our travels.”
“It’s a big week for us. Crewe is the most important game but we’re aiming to make it three wins out of three heading into Burton Albion on Saturday.”
