Match Preview: Southend United vs. Scunthorpe United

26 September 2015

A look ahead to the big game at Roots Hall in Sky Bet League 1.

Team News...
Once again, Blues boss Phil Brown has doubts over the fitness of a number of first team players for the test against Scunthorpe United at Roots Hall.

Ben Coker could return to the squad after missing out against Millwall last week, but Adam Barrett could miss out after an injury picked up at the Den.

Noel Hunt, Stephen McLaughlin, John White and Paul Smith are all doubtful for the match, but Brown will be pleased Cian Bolger came through last week's match against the Lions unscathed following a shoulder problem.

The Tickets...
Tickets for the game remain available for the game and can be purchased on the day. Details on tickets can be viewed here.

What they said...
Phil Brown: “They're not going to give us anything for nothing. It's out responsibility to entertain the home fans and that's what we intend to do.

“I've come across Mark Robins many times. He's a feisty character and is a student of the game. He's surrounded himself with good people. I believe Ned Kelly's gone in there as part of his backroom staff.”

Mark Robins: "It's a difficult place to go and play at anytime, but for us it's a good opportunity to go and play without any fear and go to try and get the three points."

"We're looking for our first three away points. We keep saying the same things, we're not far away and it certainly can't keep dragging on.”

The Officials...
Referee: Kevin Johnson
Assistant Referees:: John Busby and Paul Johnson
Fourth Official: Oleksander Saliy

One To Watch...
Paddy Madden top-scored to help Yeovil Town to promotion from League 1 via the play-offs a couple of seasons ago, and Scunthorpe will be hoping the Irishman can do similar for them. The forward has scored plenty of goals since moving to Scunthorpe and has already got off the mark this term.
