Dave pleased to get back into football with the Blues after short time out.
Newly appointed Southend United under-21 coach Dave Robertson is raring to go following the announcement that he'd joined Blues yesterday.
The former Peterborough United boss had been out of work for a short while before taking the post with the Blues.
Robertson's final game in charge of the Posh came at Roots Hall earlier this month, and on taking the role with Southend, Dave admitted it was 'a good opportunity'.
“It’s been a good opportunity for the type of person I am,” Dave said happily after taking the role.
“I enjoy getting out on the grass, working with young players and developing them, so the chance to join Southend was a good one for me.
“I had a number of conversations with the manager and I think it’s a perfect fit to come in, work alongside and support Phil [Brown] in what we’re trying to achieve here.”
And Robertson says that he's looking forward to linking up with another member of the Blues coaching team who he knows well.
“I’ve known the academy manager here Ricky Duncan for a number of years and I actually set up the academy system at Peterborough. We had no fewer than 19 youth internationals and 36 players that made their first team debuts for the club and played in the Championship.”
