Defender delighted as winning run continues at Crewe Alexandra.
Southend United defender Cian Bolger believes Blues are showing that they're certainly capable of 'living in this league' after their 2-1 victory at Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday evening.
A Joe Pigott brace earned Blues the points, and after a tricky start to the campaign, Phil Brown's side have now won three consecutive games, lifting the Blues to tenth in League 1.
“Hopefully we can go on next Saturday at Burton and get another three points,” the Irishman said.
“We were confident at half time that if we kept knocking on the door we would find a way through.
“We shot ourselves in the foot a little bit by conceding so early after going 1-0 up but we did well to get a second shortly after and then see the game out.
“Maybe it was a cash of switching off a little bit after scoring. It was a poor goal to concede but we're all delighted for Joe in scoring twice. It'll be a big confidence booster for him.”
And now Bolger wants the team to kick on for another trip north on Saturday when we visit Burton Albion.
“We're a very confident bunch. We're showing people that we're capable of living in this league. We look forward to Burton on Saturday.
“We're conceding too many if we concede one goal in a game, from a defender's point of view, but as long as we're winning, that's the main thing!”
