Left back delighted to score the winner against the Iron and his first goal of the season.
Southend United left back Ben Coker reflected on a 'perfect day' as Blues bounced back to earn a 2-1 victory at home to Scunthorpe United.
Coker missed out on the trip to Millwall last week but was instrumental in the victory over the Iron as he assisted the first goal for Michael Timlin before slamming home the match-winner with 15 minutes remaining.
“It was the perfect day and I couldn't have asked for much more,” the defender said.
“The boys did brilliantly to come back from 1-0 down. It was a great strike from their player but we got back into it and saw the game off professionally.
“I think we've done well to adapt to this league. Our home form isn't as bad as everyone says it is to be honest.
“We didn't want half time to come after Tims scored and Noel came on at half time to help us out. He said he owed me as I put a couple on his head over the last few games. It was a great ball and I just smashed it.”
And the 26-year-old believes if Blues can go on a two game unbeaten run next week – with clashes at Crewe Alexandra and Burton Albion – it will put the team in an excellent position.
“We have some massive games coming up and if we can get three or four wins in a row that will set us up really nicely.”
“I was lucky to get back in to be honest because Pross [Luke Prosser] has done really well, but the competition is healthy at the moment!”
