Boss admits second half performance from his players was 'unacceptable'.
Southend United manager Phil Brown said his side 'chucked two points away' following the 2-2 draw with Rochdale at Roots Hall.
A first half penalty from David Mooney and a neat Ryan Leonard put Blues in command just before half time, but the visitors battled back strongly and scored two themselves in the second 45 through Joe Bunney and then Michael Rose.
And a frustrated Brown said: “We've chucked two points away, just like we did last week at Gillingham.
“The second half performance was unacceptable and we had two good chances inside the opening ten minutes of the second half.
“We should have put the game to bed there and then.
“It was a decent first half from us but the second half was unacceptable, it's as simple as that.
“We could’ve lost it in the end. We got a point but we’ve taken two points from two games now and we could’ve had six.”
And Brown has set a defiant challenge for his side.
“I’ve said to the players if you want to be middle of the table then play like that but if you want to be top of the table then play like we did in the first half.”
