Stopper pens a long-term contract with the club, extended his stay with the Blues.
Southend United are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Ted Smith has signed a new three-year contract with the club.
Ted joined the club as a schoolboy aged 12 and has progressed through the ranks, making his debut last season against Accrington Stanley at Roots Hall.
He’s since appeared four times in between the sticks and is pleased with the progress he’s made.
It’s not been a bad couple of days for the 19-year-old, who was called up to the England under-20 squad for the Mercedes-Benz Elite Cup in Germany only yesterday.
Ted’s contract will run until the summer of 2018 and a full interview with the stopper will be on the official website and Blues Player HD later today.
