Winger pleased his friends, family, and the rest of the Blues supporters enjoyed emphatic win at Oldham!
He picked up and injury after scoring Southend United's third goal of the evening at Oldham Athletic, but winger David Worrall insists he's 'alright'!
Worrall impressed during his 50 minutes on the pitch, and scoring against an old team in Oldham proved to be his last action of the game.
However, the team carried on without him and bagged another couple of goals to seal a memorable 5-2 victory at Boundary Park.
“I'm alright!” David said with a smile after the game at a wet Boundary Park.
“The club doctor checked me over and with the day off on Wednesday we can rest and get back on the training pitch on Thursday.
“It's a timely boost for me getting the goal and hopefully I can go on and get a few more now.
“The pitch was a bit leg heavy. Brian Horton said it was one of the best pitches to play on but I don't think he went on it!
“The formation today caused them havoc. We went with two wingers along with Moons [David Mooney] and Payney [Jack Payne] and I thought we really cause Oldham problems.”
“I had about 16 people watching in the crowd tonight. They don't come down to Essex to watch me too often so I'm pleased we put on a show for them and the rest of our fans who made the long trip.”
And Worrall believes the win could be key ahead of another big clash against another Lancashire side in the form of former Premier League side Wigan Athletic at Roots Hall.
“It's a good boost for us heading in to the Wigan game on Saturday and we know if we get the win against them, then we have a week to get ourselves set up for the cup game against Millwall.”
