John White: It'll be a dream come true to lead Blues out at Wembley

19 May 2015

Skipper looks ahead to Saturday's big game at Wembley Stadium, against Wycombe Wanderers.

We sat down with John White today to discuss all things play-off, Wembley, Wycombe Wanderers and more, ahead of the big game on Saturday.

White on Stevenage celebrations:

“It was obviously a nice occasion against Stevenage at Roots Hall and we wanted to celebrate with the fans to thank them for their support not just in the two semi-finals but over the whole season. They've been a credit to the Club.”

White on Wembley:

“It'll be a dream come true and will be the first time I will have played at Wembley – if selected. If someone had said I'd be doing that when I started out in football then I wouldn't have believed them. I'm really excited at the prospect and I want to do a good job for all the boys.

White on Wycombe Wanderers:

“We've played well recently and have been strong. Going into it, we thought we'd be playing Wycombe but we ended up playing Stevenage, which we thought was another winnable game. Wycombe will be a tough game. They've got good players and have been up there all season. We can beat anyone on our day and hopefully we can come back with the glory.”

White on the part the fans can play at Wembley:

“The support from the fans has been amazing. It's not something I've been too used to and we urge them to give one more push to get behind us and hopefully help us over the line at Wembley.”
