Nottingham Forest winger arrives on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Southend United can announce the signing of winger Stephen McLaughlin on loan from Nottingham Forest, until the end of the 2014-15 season.
The 24-year-old moved to Forest in January 2013, after impressing at Derry City in his homeland, where he scored 13 goals in just over 50 games for the club.
The midfielder has been on loan at Sky Bet League One side Notts County this season, where he played 16 times, often in the same team with fellow Blues loanee Jake Cassidy. During his stay with County, McLaughlin registered an impressive seven assists.
The winger has also spent time on loan with Bristol City, and will go straight into the Southend squad for Saturday's trip to Bury.
Stephen has been allocated the squad number 25.
