Boss agrees to remain with the Blues until the summer of 2018.
Southend United are delighted to announce that manager Phil Brown has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal to remain in charge of the Club.
The boss oversaw promotion to League 1 via the play-offs at Wembley Stadium in May, and is thrilled to have agreed to stay with the Blues.
“It's been a long process, but I'm really pleased to be staying at Southend United long-term. I've really enjoyed my time at the Club so far and hopefully we can make some more memories together not just next season but beyond that as well.”
And the boss had a message to the Blues supporters for next season, which promises to be an exciting one.
“The fans have been great to me since I joined Southend United. I'll be here next season and we need their support as well, as we'll be taking on some massive clubs for the division – Sheffield United being one of them.
“It's been an exciting day with the fixtures released and we want you to be part of it by buying your Season Card for next season!”
Southend Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh said: “We're really pleased to have Phil staying at the Football Club. He achieved what was set out last season and he will lead us back to League 1 for the 2015-16 season."
The boss' deal will run until the summer of 2018.
