Ricky Duncan delighted for young goalkeeper to have training camp experience with national team.
Southend United can announce that young goalkeepar Harry Seaden has been called up to an England under-15 training camp.
The youngster will be with the national team for three days in mid-August, and Academy Manager Ricky Duncan believes it’s another fantastic piece of news for the Southend Academy.
“It’s another great thing for the Academy that one of our players has got the call up,” Ricky said.
“It’s good for everyone at the Club. He signed for us at under-12s or under-13s and he should be very proud to have been invited to the training camp.
“He’s a good young ‘keeper who has a lot to learn. The potential is there and anything like this will be beneficial for him.“
And Duncan is hopeful that Seadon can follow in the footsteps of a couple of other young, local lads to have progressed to play in-between the sticks for the first team.
“We come back to the pathway to the first team again, and as a goalkeeper, he can see both Ted Smith and Dan Bentley playing for the first team.”
