Dave moves on from role at Roots Hall after contract expiry.
Southend United announce that assistant manager Dave Penney has departed the Club, following the expiry of his contract.
Dave and the Club failed to reach an agreement regarding a new deal and therefore he has left the club with immediate effect.
The Yorkshireman joined the Blues back in the summer of 2013 and played his part in the promotion from League 2 via the play-offs last season.
Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh said: “We offered Dave a new contract but he has decided for personal reasons not to accept and plans to move back to West Yorkshire.
“I would like to thank Dave for all his efforts over the last two years and wish him well in the future.”
Dave Penney said “I have had two great years at the club, culminating in promotion last May.
“I would like to take this opportunity of wishing the club and its supporters continued success."
