FA investigating smoke bomb and other incidents from our win at Fratton Park.
Southend United Football Club have been written to by the FA to explain incidents in the away crowd at last week’s match at Portsmouth in Sky Bet League Two.
The Football Association are investigating events following smoke bombs being let off at Fratton Park, and other fracas. The Club are concerned that these actions are putting Southend’s good name at risk, are a danger to fellow supporters and could impact away allocations for future matches, as well as potentially leading to fines.
Steve Kavanagh said “The support this season on the road has been fantastic and a real boost to the team. However, the actions of a minority who think it adds to the day are in danger of damaging the great backing from our supporters. Some people see smoke bombs as adding to the atmosphere, when clearly they are significant risk to every one attending. I would ask those responsible to stop this immediately.”
