Draw between Albion and the Blues down in Sussex in a behind closed doors match.
A Southend United Development Squad side drew 0-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion earlier today.
Blues included the likes of Cian Bolger, Luke Prosser, Myles Weston, Conor Clifford and Gary Deegan in the lineup and were unlucky not to come away with the win, down on the south coast, with Jason Williams missing the best chance of the game
And Graham Coughlan was pleased with the workout, and believes the young lads benefitted playing alongside the more senior players.
“We had the best chance of the game, and Jason Williams has to score from close range,” the Blues coach said.
“It was a tough game but both teams benefitted from it. We had a nice mixture of old and young. The young lads got the experience of playing alongside the more experienced lads.
“The facilities are brilliant down there. They are a team that competes and train together regularly, and when we come together we put in a good shift. The young lads put in a good shift and rolled their sleeves up, as they have done all season,” Coughlan concluded.
Blues will next be playing a behind closed doors game away at Oxford United in the first week in February, unless other fixtures are announced between then.
