New Blues striker Jake aiming high for the rest of this season after joining from Wolves.
New Southend United signing Jake Cassidy has said he’s come to Southend United with one aim – promotion.
The striker arrived on a loan deal until the end of the season and is looking forward to the challenge ahead at Roots Hall.
“I thought it would be a good test for me to come down here and hopefully get promotion,” the 21-year-old said.
“I had offers from clubs in League One, but when I spoke to the Gaffer, he had the ambition and drive for us to do well this season.
“The more I thought about it, the more I thought coming to Southend would be the right move for me.
“My work rate is always second to none. I will always give 100% to the cause and try my hardest. If the chances come, I like to think I will be able to score a few goals to help the team.
“I can’t wait to get started on Saturday against Oxford. The lads have been great already and have made me very welcome.
“The fact the Gaffer has managed at the top level and the calibre of the players here played a massive part in me coming here. From the fans to the players, we all want promotion. It’s a team game and we all want that."
