Five players put on transfer list by Southend United.
The Club has today confirmed that the following players have been made available for free transfer or loan:
Phil Brown said: “We have had various meetings looking at our squad and what is required to obtain promotion this season.
“We feel the need to bring in some players to help us achieve that goal in terms of goal threat and also additional experience.
“The changes, which are in progress now, will limit the opportunities for these players and I decided it was best to let them try and find a club now to help them progress their careers by going somewhere and playing, rather than wait until the summer, when significant numbers of players become free agents.”
The Blues boss continued: “They have all been first class in their attitude but with the changes we are making it only seemed right to let them go and find first team football elsewhere”.
The Club have also circulated other clubs regarding the availability of Jason Williams and Jack Bridge for loan.
“I think both Jason and Jack will have a future in the first team at Southend,” Brown said.
“It is important that they get experience playing senior football, Jason did that and I pulled him back over the Christmas period to have a good look as he is very close.
“I want him and Jack to go back out, hopefully to the next level, and carry on showing what they have on loan already this season”.
