Match Preview: Southend United vs. Cheltenham Town

10 February 2015

A look ahead to tonight's match against Cheltenham Town at Roots Hall.

Season so far…
It’s been a disappointing campaign for the Robins so far this season, following a couple of play-off finishes in recent years.

They started off well enough, going unbeaten in the opening six matches of the Sky Bet League Two season, which included four wins, against Bury, Accrington Stanley, Tranmere Rovers and Hartlepool United. However, following defeat at Luton, Cheltenham began their slide down the table, losing to Blues, drawing to Dagenham & Redbridge and AFC Wimbledon, and losing to Burton Albion and Shrewsbury Town.

The Robins have won just once in the last 14 games in all competitions, one result being a 1-0 FA Cup home defeat to non-league Dover Athletic.

Paul Buckle took over from long-serving Mark Yates as manager, when Yates was let go at the end of November.
