Defender to remain with the Blues for at least another year.
Southend United are delighted to announce that defender Adam Thompson has signed a new contract with the club.
The centre back has penned a one-year deal with the Blues, with the option of a second campaign with the Blues.
The 22-year-old joined Southend on an initial loan deal from Watford in August 2013, before agreeing a permanent switch to Roots Hall six months later.
He has so far appeared 49 times for the club, of which 29 were in our successful 2014-15 campaign, before a shoulder injury picked up against Mansfield Town in April ended his season prematurely.
Check back on the official site later for an interview with Adam.
The full interview will be on Blues Player HD later this afternoon.
