News: Smoke bomb incident being investigated.

27 April 2015

Smoke bomb incident against Luton Town being investigated.

Southend United are being investigated by the FA following the smoke bomb being let off during Saturday's game against Luton Town at Roots Hall

Such incidents are extremely dangerous and cannot be tolerated and the Club are appealing for anyone who knows who was responsible.

Following an incident at Portsmouth away the Club, the Shrimpers Trust and The Blue Voice all put out statements condemning such actions and stating no Southend fans want to see this sort of behaviour.  Unfortunately some people seem to believe that this is a good idea.

Southend United Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh said: “I am appalled at what went on and that some mindless people think this is acceptable. On a day where we were remembering people who lost their lives in the Bradford fire, it is beggars belief what went on during the game against Luton.  This could have serious repercussions for the Club and we will have to seriously consider how the singing section works in the future."
