Assistant manager looking forward to the mouthwatering clash at Gigg Lane on Tuesday evening.
Southend United assistant manager Dave Penney says the Blues are ready for battle in a mouthwatering clash at Bury on Tuesday evening in Sky Bet League Two at Gigg Lane.
It's fourth vs. fifth, with both team knowing that a win will put them in a great position and adding pressure on Wycombe Wanderers in the final automatic promotion place.
And Penney wants Blues to continue the momentum generated by five consecutive wins.
“It's a big game and it always was going to be,” Dave said.
“We're looking forward to it. We're on a decent run with five wins and six clean sheet in a row. We have belief in the changing room and we are confident of getting a result.
“We have to try and win the game left to get in the top three. The manager was proactive on Saturday to try and win the game
“Bury have won four on the spin I think but they've recently lost to Morecambe and I think Oxford won their at Gigg Lane.
And Penney says that apart from John White – who still has a chance to play against the Shakers – the Blues have a fully fit squad to choose from for the long trip north.
“John came off during the Newport game and he wasn't quite right. We'll see how he is on the morning of the game. Everybody else is fine, it's just John who we're waiting on at the moment.
“We're capable of getting a result there, so bring it on.”
