News: Ben Coker set for further scan but Conor Clifford back in light training

8 September 2014

Phil Brown says he will not learn the full extent of defender Ben Coker’s injury until Wednesday when he has a further scan.

The defender had an initial scan today (Monday), where it was confirmed there was some damage to the ligaments and tendons in his elbow.

But Brown will have to wait until Wednesday when the defender has a second scan, to learn how long he will be missing for.

Brown said: “Ben went for a scan today and it was confirmed there were some ligament and tendon problems.

“But he will go for another scan on Wednesday to allow us to get more of an understanding about what he has done.

“We still don’t know how long he will be missing for, we can’t put a definitive timeframe on it at this stage.”

That was the bad news for Blues, but there was some good news for Blues’ boss.

“Conor Clifford was back in light training on Monday which was positive news,” he added.

“I feared on Saturday he could be out for quite a while but he came through the session and should be available for Portsmouth at the weekend.”
