We look ahead to Southend United's trip to Luton Town in Sky Bet League Two, where Blues will be heavily backed
Southend United are back on the road on Saturday as the Blues travel to Bedfordshire to take on Luton Town in Sky Bet League Two.
The Hatters are back in the Football League after a number of years playing in non-league football and John Still’s side have started the season well – sitting just outside the play-off places.
Luton began the season well with a victory at Carlisle United on the opening day of the season but then failed to win in six games in all competitions.
However, the form picked up and after a 1-0 win over Cheltenham Town in September, earned a draw at York before beating Cambridge United, Oxford United and Stevenage.
The Hatters lost on Tuesday night in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at home to Crawley Town.

The Inside View
Dave Penney: “Luton are a good side, there’s no doubt about that. John Still is a wily old fox, he knows what he’s doing and has a good squad. He’s made a habit of bringing in talented players over the years.”
John Still: “The travelling support when it comes to Luton is fantastic and it really adds to the atmosphere. I expect a good travelling support from Southend and they are a good side in some good form.”
