Community: NCS projects are back this Autumn

10 October 2014

Do you want to take part in a once in a lifetime project where you can meet new people, enjoy yourself and learn new skills?

We’re going to be running our successful NCS project again this Autumn, why not take part!

The NCS project is a community engagement project aimed at getting young people to work in teams to benefit themselves and their local community.

The project is made up of:

- A 3 Night/ 4 Day residential at the Kingswood Activity Centre, Ashford, Kent, doing activities such as High Ropes, Zipwire and Rock Climbing.

- 2½ Days at Roots Hall Stadium learning new skills such as First Aid and Sport Leadership.

- Planning a delivering a Social Action Project with the aim of helping people in your local community.

- A graduation to celebrate your achievements where you will be presented your certificate by a Southend United player.

Benefits of taking part in the programme include free tickets to Southend United matches, a self-esteem boost and the opportunity to make new friends.

The cost for this project is just £35 (including all food, drink, accommodation and transport for the residential).

This project has seen some participants move into apprenticeships at Southend United, our Futsal Scholarship and other education programmes, and has seen other grow in confidence and boost their CV’s!
