Defender delighted to mark his return to the Blues lineup with a win and a clean sheet
Southend United defender Cian Bolger admitted it was good to be back after returning to the Blues starting XI in their 1-0 victory over Hartlepool United.
Bolger hasn't played for Blues sine the trip to Luton Town in early October and admits he has been frustrated at a stop-start season so far.
“Of course it's been frustrating for me, with the mistake against Luton and the red card against Plymouth,” the Irishman admitted.
“You've just got to keep your head down and keep working hard.
“Hopefully I've come back in and showed everyone what I can do. I'd say I have a point to prove, a little bit.”
And Cian was pleased to help Blues get back to winning ways against Pools and is aiming to keep his place for next week's game at Tranmere Rovers.
“It was great to be back playing again and it was a big win for us against Hartlepool. It was massive today and hopefully we can kick on now.
“We were disappointed over the last few weeks with the results we were getting.
“It probably should have been more than that. However, we'll take a 1-0 win every week because it's three points.
“It's about me keeping the shirt now. We have the clean sheet and now I want to be involved next Saturday against Tranmere, which will be another tough game.”
