Skipper says confidence is back after a great month - but wants the side to continue winning run against Northampton Town.
Southend United captain John White believes the confidence is back in the Blues camp but insists the side were never too far away from earning victories on a consistent basis following a disappointing October.
This month, Blues have been in great form and come into the Sky Bet League Two match against Northampton Town following three consecutive victories in the league.
“If you get a few wins under your belt, it breeds confidence in the camp,” the skipper said.
“We have a young squad who are full of confidence, which never waned too much. The camp is buzzing at the moment.
“We haven’t changed too much this month. We’ve had things go in the back of the net which possibly haven’t done before.
“There’s nothing that changed that has been too noticeable. We knew that when we weren’t picking point up, we weren’t too far away.
“We believe in the system that the Gaffer puts us into. We were never too far away and it was just a matter of time before we turned things around.
And personally, White says there’s not too much difference from playing in his usual position of right back, to switching to the left-hand side of a back four over the last couple of games.
“It’s not too different playing left back to right back, to be honest. I’m just happy to do my job for the team and help them out.
“It will be a tough game against Northampton. They have plenty of talent in their team and depth in the squad. It’s good to have that in the side. We want to play well and the competition is good in the squad.”
