Community: Boot-Bank scheme begins

14 November 2014

Southend United Community & Educational Trust announce Boot-Bank scheme.

Southend United Community & Educational Trust is proud to announce its new Boot-Bank scheme, which will provide disadvantaged and underrepresented groups with the correct equipment to take part in football.

All donated boots will be offered at a highly reduced price at Southend United Community & Educational Trust boot sale to be held during our community corner days. Boots will also be offered to those who attend any community cohesion sessions; with all proceeds going to charity.

To donate your boots for this fantastic scheme simply drop them into Roots Hall Stadium reception in a sealed box or container marked out for Southend United Community & Educational Trust, or by passing them on to any of the community coaches during a session, along with your name and phone number. Football boots must be clean and in a wearable condition so they can be used by others.

Anyone who donates a pair of boots will be in with the chance of winning two free tickets to the Southend United vs. Cheltenham Town home fixture as well as a pair of Football Boots signed by the first team. The winner of which will be revealed on Twitter before the York City  game on Saturday the 31st of January.

Throughout the months of November, December, and January we will also be holding a competition for all local football teams during which the team that donates the most boots to the boot bank will win a ground tour of the Roots Hall Stadium and match tickets for their entire team.

Why not tweet a selfie of you and the boots you are going to donate to our Twitter feed on @SUFCcommunity with the hashtag #SUCETBOOTBANK to enter our competition and win a meal for two in the Blues lounge before a Southend United League Two fixture.
