Help the club reach 10,000 tickets sold for Southend United's game against Burton Albion
With around 8,000 tickets sold for Saturday’s League 2 Play-off second leg against Burton Albion, and still two days to go before the big game, we’re launching: Target 10,000.
Phil Brown and the players will need all of your support on Saturday if they are to secure a second trip to Wembley in two seasons, and the chance to fight it out for a place in League 1.
Tickets sales have been good so far, and the North Bank has now been opened to home supporters as we look to fill the stadium for Saturday’s game.
This is our fourth play-off game in nine years, and we’re hoping we can top the attendances of the previous three.
In 2005, 9,152 watched on as Blues beat Northampton Town 1-0 to seal a place in the League 2 play-off final.
In 2008, 9,109 watched the 0-0 draw with Doncaster Rovers in the League1 play-off first leg, and two years ago, 8,190 watched the second leg against Crewe Alexandra.
We’re in a great position to smash those attendances, but we need your help if we are to reach our 10,000 target.
Please get all your friends, family and anyone else along to Roots Hall on Saturday to watch the game, and hopefully come 2pm, we’ll all be celebrating knowing we’re just over a week away from a trip to Wembley.
Phil Brown said: “This would be a great target to reach in terms of a crowd for Saturday’s game. The support has been superb all season, and hopefully there are still two more games for you to cheer us on.
“It’s a big game on Saturday, and your noise will be absolutely vital. The noise created at the Hull City game, where we had just over 10,000, was superb, and it would be great to have more of the same this weekend.”
