Team news ahead of Southend United's game with Wycombe Wanderers
New-boy John Egan made his Southend United debut as he came into the side from the start from the home game against Wycombe Wanderers.
Kevan Hurst, who signed a new deal on Friday with the club, was also back in the side after dropping to the bench on Tuesday night.
Egan came into the heart of the defence to partner Mark Phillips.
They were the only two changes from Tuesday night, as Marc Laird and Lee Barnard dropped to the bench.
It also meant Blues went back to their 4-3-3 formation.
Luke Chambers was Blues’ substitute goalkeeper with Paul Smith missing out with a slight injury.
