Ryan Auger scored the only goal of the game as the development side beat Ipswich Town
Southend United’s development side beat Ipswich Town 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
Ryan Auger scored the only goal of the game, against a very experienced Ipswich side.
Frazer Richardson, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Jay Tabb, Carlos Edwards and Paul Taylor all played for the hosts.
Blues had Paul Smith, Luke Prosser and Lee Barnard play in the game, with Prosser coming through an hour, and Barnard playing 50 minutes.
Graham Coughlan said: “It was another good performance, especially we had a young side up against an experienced Ipswich team.
“Luke Prosser played an hour and came through it well, while Lee Barnard got another good 50 minutes in.
“We played some really good football, especially in the first-half.
“The shape and understanding for a young side was good and there were a number of promising performances.”
