We take a look at Stevenage...
Having finished 18th in 2012-13, Stevenage found the going tougher in League 1 during the last campaign. Graham Westley’s first full season back in charge of the club didn’t go to plan, as Boro finished bottom of League 1. A run of one win in their final 12 games meant they came 24th, with 42 points from their 46 matches.
Graham Westley returned as boss for a third spell in charge of Stevenage in March 2013. His first spell was between 2003 and 2006, before returning in 2008 for another four years. An unsuccessful spell at Preston saw him return in 2013. He guided the club to the Conference title in 2010 and the League 2 play-offs in 2011.
THE MEN TO WATCH
Calvin Zola has joined the club after a spell in Scotland last year. The tall striker impressed during his spell with Burton Albion before a move to Aberdeen.
Defender Dean Wells has joined the club from Braintree Town. The 29-year-old had been playing part time for the Iron, sharing football with a job as a caretaker.
Former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Dean Parrett joined Boro in 2013. He signed a new deal with the club in the summer and has represented England at U16 to U20 level.
WHAT’S HAPPENED THIS SUMMER
Luke Freeman has left to join Bristol City, while Lucas Akins has moved on to join Burton Albion. James Dunne has signed for Portsmouth while Luke Jones has moved to Mansfield Town.
Chris Day and Jon Ashton have both agreed new one-year deals, but Steve Arnold, Matt Ball, Jordan Burrow, Anthony Furlonge, Michael Thalassitis, Oumare Tounkara, Francois Zoko, Dani Lopez and Craig Reid were all released.
Calvin Zola and Dean Wells have joined the club, while Andy Bond, Sam Beasant and Harry Worley have also arrived.
Blues have met just three times with Stevenage, coming out on top twice, and drawing once.
The last meeting between the sides was in April 2011.
