Southend United's season will kick off on the road for the first time in 12 years...
Southend United will be on the road for the opening day of the season for the first time in 12 years when the 2014-15 season kicks off.
Phil Brown’s side face the long trip to the Crown Ground to take on Accrington Stanley on Saturday 9th August, 2014.
Blues’ first home game will see them take on recently relegated Stevenage at Roots Hall on Saturday 16th August, following on from the Capital One Cup fixture against Walsall in midweek.
It will be three in a row at home for Blues, with AFC Wimbledon due to visit on Tuesday 19th August, kick-off 7:45pm.
Our second away trip will be the longest of the season, as Blues head up north to take on Carlisle United on Saturday 23rd August.
Should we progress in the Capital One Cup, the second round will be played week commencing August 25th.
To end the opening month of the season, Blues will be on the road once more, with another mammoth journey. This time, Brown’s side will be at Home Park to take on Plymouth Argyle on Saturday 30th August.
Blues will take on Cambridge United on Boxing Day away from home, before welcoming Dagenham & Redbridge on December 28th.
Luton Town will visit Roots Hall on Saturday 25th April for our final home game of the season, while we will be away to Morecambe on the final day of the campaign (Saturday 2nd May).
