Brown: Have you got your Season Card yet?

20 June 2014

Over 2,500 Season Cards have already been snapped up for next season. Have you got yours?

Having seen the fixtures released on Wednesday, and the 2014-15 season drawing ever closer, Phil Brown has called on Southend United supporters to make sure they have their Season Card ready for the new campaign at Roots Hall.

Blues’ first game at home will see them take on Walsall in the Capital One Cup first round, before welcoming Stevenage on Saturday 16th August for their first home league game of the season.

As of Thursday morning, over 2,500 Season Cards had been sold for the new season. Blues’ boss was delighted to hear how many have signed up for the new campaign, but urged those who hadn’t to make sure they get theirs.

He said: “It’s fantastic to hear we’ll have 2,500 supporters here for every game next season with their Season Card. Hopefully fans watched the type of football we were playing last season and were impressed.

“Our home record improved dramatically during 2013-14 and that’s largely down to the support of the fans last season. You were absolutely superb, and on a number of occasions got us over the line.

“I can’t thank the supporters who have already got their Season Cards enough, but it’d be great to have even more come the first game of the season.

“The opening game will of course be in the Capital One Cup, but I’m sure you’ll be out in your numbers when Stevenage visit in our first home game of the campaign on August.

“I’m sure everyone got a bit of a buzz about the new season when the fixtures came out on Wednesday. There’s some great games to look forward to and I hope you’ll be a part of it all with us.”

Swap week for next season will take place from the 30th June, meaning anyone who hasn’t renewed yet still has time to secure their same seat for the new campaign.

That week, Blues’ players will return for pre-season training, and Brown says plans are coming together for next season, following the arrival of Myles Weston last week.

He added: “We’re really looking forward to getting going again in early July, building up for the start of the campaign. We have a good nucleus here already and we’ll be adding to it.

“Myles was the first of what I hope is five or six players to come in this summer. We’re working hard to build a squad that will entertain supporters next season.

“I’d like to think we did that this season, but we just fell short. Hopefully it won’t be the case next time around, and you’ll be there to enjoy it with us.”
