Meet The Blues Day: Club legends to return

21 July 2014

Legends to return at Meet The Blues Day

Our annual Meet The Blues Day is one you won’t want to miss, with a team of Southend United legends returning for a one-off game at Boots & Laces.

Former manager Steve Tilson has pulled together some of the greats from over the years to take on a team including Eastender Terry Alderton, Blues boss Phil Brown, his assistant Dave Penney and first-team coach Graham Coughlan.

Tilson will be playing alongside Paul Clark, Mark Gower, Mark Beard, David Lee, Paul Sansome, Gary Nelson, Kevin Maher, Chris Powell, Andy Ansah and Andy Edwards.

There will also be a first-team training session and an Academy game with Southend United’s under-14’s taking on Ipswich Town’s under-14’s.

As we confirmed last week, the home shirt for the 2014-15 season will also be revealed at Meet The Blues Day, while the away shirt, which will be revealed first on Friday will also be shown again to supporters at the event.

There’ll be lots of activities going on throughout the day, while there will of course be a player signing session where supporters will have the chance to have their memorabilia signed by all of the first-team squad.

Meet The Blues Day will start at 11am at Boots & Laces and end at around 4pm on Sunday 27th July. It’s free for all supporters so why not come along!
