Blues In Spain: John White's Daily Diary

10 July 2014

Blues' skipper with his fourth update from Spain...

I have to say, the whole trip to Spain has been absolutely superb, and the fourth day was probably one of the best in terms of training levels.

After an early breakfast we were out onto the training ground where we had a bit of an extended warm up to shake off a bit of stiffness.

The session was more game related, looking at attacking and defending, which was good for all of us knowing the first game is on Saturday.

At the end we had the usual Crossbar Challenge – I’m not sure who actually won this time, but the Gaffer and Dave Penney are usually two who always hit it most often.

After some lunch we had a session in the pool, with a bit of swimming and then some different movements in the water to help us recover from all the sessions.

We had a nice BBQ in the evening after the session, with a couple of nice local dishes before we sat down to watch the football.

It wasn’t up to much, and our friendly first goalscorer sweepstake never really got going!

It should be a great final on Sunday. Germany were unbelievable against Brazil and Argentina have Messi, who can always create a moment of magic.

Before that, we’ll be getting our 2014-15 season underway, and I have to say, I can’t wait, and I don’t think the rest of the lads can either.
