Team news for Southend United's game against Chesterfield

New loan signing Luke O’Neill made his debut for Southend United against Chesterfield at Roots Hall.

O’Neill, who joined on Friday, came into the side at right-back and allowed Ryan Leonard to move back into midfield.

Conor Clifford was the man to drop to the bench in place of the 22-year-old on loan from Burnley.

The rest of the team remained unchanged with Mark Phillips, Luke Prosser and Ben Coker making up the back four.

Leonard was joined in midfield by Michael Timlin and Will Atkinson.

In attack Kevan Hurst was on the right, Anthony Straker on the left and Barry Corr through the middle.

Blues: Bentley; O’Neill, Prosser, Phillips, Coker; Atkinson, Leonard, Timlin; Straker, Hurst, Corr.

Subs: Smith, Laird, Clifford, Payne, Eastwood, Woodrow, Thompson.
